Family Disputes

Many couples and families find it difficult to mutually agree on all the important issues as they disengage from their partnership.
 
Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) is a process which aims to help separating parties in conflict with each other work out parenting arrangements, financial settlements and any other matter involving the family. 
 
The FDR process aims to: 

• Explore the issues which need to be resolved;
• Identify areas of consensus and a range of options;
• Evaluate these options and their consequences in a neutral and unbiased manner; and
• Reach constructive and workable agreements between the parties.

For parties where children are involved, one of the major benefits of the FDR process is that it gives the separating parties the ability to make better decisions about their children.

FDR is now compulsory under Australian Family Law, and separating families with children must make a genuine attempt to resolve their issues through mediation with a Family Dispute Resolution Provider.
